An experienced strategic business and marketing consulting professional, Millie founded The Miami Group in 2000 after 18 years in travel technology marketing, and management information systems development and implementation for the banking, insurance, and energy industries.
Prior to founding The Miami Group, Millie was Product and Marketing Manager at Amadeus North America, Project Manager and Business Systems Analyst for American Bankers Insurance Group (now Assurant Group), and Centrust Bank, both in Miami, Florida, and Dresser Industries in Dallas, Texas. She began her professional career in technology as a programmer-analyst at GPI Grupo de Proyectos in Caracas, Venezuela, and later at City National Bank of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Millie believes community involvement is the best way we can make the world a better place. She is a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem in Miami-Dade County since 2003, serves on the Board of Directors of Orchestra Miami, and is a member of the Dadeland Business Association since 2010. She held elected office on the Kendall Community Council 12 from 2003 to 2006, and was elected Vice Chair in 2005.
Millie is a 2004 Fellow of the National Hispana Leadership Institute and completed the Harvard J. F. K. School of Government NHLI Execute Program. She has served on the community Advisory Board of the Girls Advocacy Project, an intervention program for girls detained in the juvenile justice system.
Millie received a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in e-Business from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, Illinois.
